Functie-informatie Based at the Leiden office, and reporting to the Coordinator Technical Services, your role will be varied and will encompass all aspects of our technical support operation, including:
- upgrades, installations, and database administration work
- managing and further improving our Sybase, SQL server and in the (near) future Oracle DBMS environment
- Monitoring with Big Brother and where necessary extending this
- second-line technical support of customers is a major part of the role, as is - customer-related project work, some of which will involve
- travel to customers' sites mostly in the The Netherlands
Functie-eisen you work independently and at a higher educational level
- your technical knowledge and skills will preferably include experience of Unix operating systems (such as Sun Solaris 8/9/10 and Suse SLES 9/10) and support and maintenance of web applications
- knowledge of the OCLC product set is an advantage, although full product training will be provided

- a problem-solving mentality is essential, but good interpersonal skills are equally important
- you will be a team player, who understands that customer satisfaction and joined-up service delivery are key drivers
